A National League winner with Barrow in 2020, Middlesbrough-born Dixon put pen to paper for Pools in June 2023.
Dixon, a product of Sunderland's academy, tasted first-team football while on loan at Workington and Boston United. He also had a brief stay with Hartlepool in 2014 but failed to make a senior appearance.
The shot-stopper linked up with Barrow and made over 200 appearances for the Bluebirds during a six-year spell. He then gained League One experience with Bolton Wanderers, winning the EFL Trophy before departing in the summer.
