Hartlepool United x HGT

Hartlepool United x HGT

Here at Her Game Too, we are a group of female supporters who are passionate about football and working to eradicate sexism in the football industry. We want women and girls of all ages to feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football both online and in real life without fear of sexist abuse.

Our Hartlepool United HGT ambassador is Jill Simmonds and she is supported by advocates Bethan, Emma, Sam, Abbie and Rona. The team are contactable via hartlepoolunitedHGT@outlook.com

Should you experience any abuse or have any concerns these can be raised via  https://www.hergametoo.co.uk/report

Welcome Tom Crawford

Tom Crawford has this month committed his support to the Her Game Too initiative.

Tom has become one of only a handful of "Player Advocates" who play a critical part in champoning and supporting the Her Game Too message within football - through supporting and promoting the aims and objectives.

On signing his contract, Tom said:

"I am very excited to be the Hartlepool United Her Game Too Player Advocate. I hope we can take huge strides in stopping the discrimination that comes unnecessarily with the women's game. I want to be a part of women feeling confident and proud of playing and watching the game we all love".

Jill Simmonds, HUFC Her Game Too Ambassador said:

“It is so important to have player advocates working with us at Her Game Too. The help they give in getting our message heard by everyone is vital! As a campaign we are here to support all females in sport and that includes players families who have also been victims of sexist and misogynistic abuse at football matches.

The Her Game Too HUFC team are absolutely thrilled to have Tom working with us. He will be our link to the playing and coaching squad as well as sharing our work on social media platforms!

Let’s hope for a successful season, on and off the pitch.”

Welcome Tom Crawford

Her Game Too #WeSeeYou Campaign

We were delighed to nominate Vicki Burton for the Her Game Too #WeSeeYou campaign.

You have probably seen Vicki around the ground at some point as she has worked for HUCSF for a number of years,

Vick is really commited to her work in football and we wanted to shine a light on all the work she does.

Norton and Stockton Ancients have a fantastic girls set up locally in Teessside and a lot of that is down to Vicki and her husband, Chris.

Vicki has established an amazing family orientated community, their facilities are top notch! They have girls who have gone through the ranks to play in America.

Well done Vicki!412651396_17986218869595515_7220326593657759905_n.jpg

Designated Her Game Too Fixture 2023/24

This week we are pleased to launch our dedicated fixture
for this season. The match is in celebration of International Women’s Day and the partnership between HUFC and Her Game Too.

It will take place on Saturday, March 2 as Hartlepool United
take on Barnet in the Vanarama National League.

We at HerGameToo are a group of voluntary female
supporters who are passionate about football. We
are working to eradicate sexism in the football industry
and want women and girls of all ages to feel confident and
safe watching their teams, working in the football
industry and sharing their opinion about football both
online and in real life without fear of sexist abuse.

We are inviting all our girls and women’s teams along to
take apart in a lap of honour. The number of females has
increased so much over the past 12 months so will be a
great occasion to show our appreciation to the players
and coaches from across Hartlepool.

The HUFC players will once again be wearing our
HerGameToo warm-up tops. We will have female mascots,
ball girls and flagbearers. Clavering School have been
invited to be the Junior Poolies for this game in
recognition of them being the first school in the country
to form an official partnership.

We also need your help! We want to champion the
female supporters of HUFC and are asking for your
photos and videos from over the years of women and girls
following Pools near and far. Please send us any photos
and videos to hartlepoolunitedhgt@outlook.com or via social media that you don’t mind us using as
we would like to produce a fan reel to use in the run up
to the fixture in March.

We also want two girls to read out the teams at the
Suit Direct Stadium on the day itself. If you want to be in
with a chance of doing this, please let us know your
names and we will draw the lucky winners in due course.

Thanks in advance and we look forward to hearing
from you.
