A busy schedule for our youth teams this week…
Our U19s and U16’s are on the road this week in National and JPL league action respectively, while our SYT have just one fixture this week and are on home soil.
U19s
Following last week’s 2-0 victory in the Academy Cup, our U19s return to National League Alliance action as they travel to Altrincham FC on Wednesday (14:00pm).
Alex Cross’s side will look to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-0 defeat against Guiseley AFC last time out in the league.
Our U19s sit ninth in the table with six points after seven games, victory could see Pools rise to seventh.
Wednesday’s opponents are 11th in the league with just two points after seven games, Altrincham are still winless this season.
The Robins lost 4-3 to Halifax Town last time out.
U16s
Following a 4-0 defeat to Harrogate Town, our U16s are looking to bounce back in the JPL National League Cup as they travel to the group leaders York City on Saturday.
Our newly formed U16s sit 5th in the NL group stage with just three points after four games.
With the Cup’s group stage set to split into three separate knockout tournaments, the Cup, Trophy and Vase, Shanahan’s side’s future is undecided: A win could see our U16s move into the Trophy qualification places while a loss or draw will seal our fate in the Vase.
York City sit top of the group with nine points from four games and have already cemented their spot in the Cup.
Last week, The Minstermen blasted past Evolution Football Academy with an 8-0 victory in the JPL Premier League.
SYT
Only one of our SYT teams are in action this week, participating in the National College League.
Last time out, our NECL side won 3-1 over Redcar AFC. Damian Shanahan’s side will look to continue their unbeaten season as they welcome Whitby Town to Brierton Sports Centre (14:00pm).
