Campbell, who can play across the front line including as a winger or striker, joined Pools after playing an instrumental role in Crawley Town’s promotion to League One with 45 appearances.
Capped at England U16, U17 and U19, Campbell started his senior career at Newcastle United where he made his competitive first team debut against Atromitos in the UEFA Europa League in August 2012, aged just 17. He then went on to make his Premier League Debut against Stoke the following season.
Subsequently the 29-year-old has played over 370 games in his senior career including spells at Notts County, St Mirren and Morecambe.
Campbell also enjoyed two years at Gateshead where he played 83 games scoring 25 goals. He enjoyed great success with the Heed, winning the National League North title in 2022 before reaching the FA Trophy Final.
