Reiss McNally expressed the importance of ‘team spirit’ following Hartlepool United’s 2-0 win over Altrincham in the Enterprise National League.
The defender scored Pools’ second goal and was a part of the back line that has kept three successive clean sheets out of a possible three.
McNally said, “We’ve got to back each other.
“When the front men have done their job, you’ve got to do yours.”
Pools took the lead early in the first half through Alex Reid, then McNally scored a header before the break.
“It was a good header,
“Matty put in a great ball. I don’t think I had to do much movement.
“So yeah, great ball in and just finished it off.”
McNally is proud of the team keeping maximum clean sheets so far this season.
“It’s still early days.
“Across the season, we are going to concede goals, but it’s always positive getting a clean sheet for confidence.
“It’s not just the backline, it’s from the front, too.
“They have us, we have them, so it’s a team thing.”
