Pools play first home friendly

Darren Sarll takes to the home dugout for the first time at Victoria Park when Pools host Sunderland U21s in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.

Pools enjoyed a triumphant victory last time out, claiming a 5-0 win over South Shields with all goals coming in the first half.

They were boosted by Luke Waterfall’s return to the pitch, while Tom Parkes and Luke Charman are set to be fit for this weekend.

Sunderland U21s are fresh off a pre-season trip to Italy where the Black Cats faced Hellas Verona and Bologna.

The Wearsiders are led by Graeme Murty, who was capped by Scotland during his playing career and later managed Rangers.
