Darren Sarll visits his stomping ground as Hartlepool United travel to Woking on Bank Holiday Monday with a 3pm kick-off.
With four games under his belt at Pools, Sarll remains unbeaten following a last-second equaliser at home to Wealdstone on Saturday.
That was Mani Dieseruvwe’s first goal of the season, while Jack Hunter and Joe Grey have also got goals to their name earlier in August.
Having started with two defeats, Woking have picked up their form recently with wins over Dagenham & Redbridge and Ebbsfleet United, placing the Cards ninth in the table.
Their 3-0 victory over the Fleet two days ago saw Max Dyche, Charley Kendall and Matt Ward on the scoresheet for Michael Doyle’s outfit.
From The Gaffer
“There’ll be a debrief and a lot of analysis from Saturday,” stated Pools boss Darren Sarll.
“We need to because it’s the only time we’ll get to horn in on the critical elements – we need to use the time in the hotel theoretically.
“Physically, it’s about rolling the players out again. We underperformed on Saturday, there’s no hiding from that, so it makes Monday a bigger opportunity to try and get a win to keep that balance. It’s an important game for sure.”
Last Meeting
Pools travelled to the Laithwaite Community Stadium back in February, where Kevin Phillips’ side were denied late following a stoppage-time strike.
Joe Grey had opened the scoring on seven minutes for Pools, slamming home David Ferguson’s driven cross at the front post.
However, in the 93rd minute, Woking pegged level when Curtis Edwards’ cross was scrambled home at the back post by Lewis Walker to make it 1-1.
