New Year’s message from Pools Women

Pools Women captain and defender, Chelsea Basnett, issues a New Year’s message on behalf of the team.

“The last few months have been difficult,” she stated.

“We had a really tough start to this season with a few experienced players leaving and a number of injuries.

“It’s a really challenging league to be in with some good teams and that’s shown in some of our results. But we’ve regrouped each time, more determined to improve each week.

“We now have a really young squad but I believe we have true potential and real talent throughout the team.

“The New Year gives us all a chance for a fresh start. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways and improve as a team.

“From everyone at Hartlepool United Women, we wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.”

Pools Women are next in action on Sunday 5 January with a league game away to Gateshead.
