National League Trust U11 Finals set for Saturday

Saturday sees the local final of the National League Trust U11 Kids’ and U11 Girls’ Cups take place. In the mixed final, we have Bewley School vs Sacred Heart, and in the girls final it’s Sacred Heart again, and they’ll be playing against St Teresa’s.

In order to reach the finals, both sets of teams had to qualify in first or second place from the local competition. Both Bewley and Sacred Heart were unbeaten all day in the mixed competition, and finished on eight points following two wins and two draws. The sides were tied at 1-1 when they played each other, and they were separated by only one goal in the final standings, with Bewley finishing with a goal difference of +4, and Sacred Heart on +3. It’s sure to be a tightly contested final!

In the girls competition, Sacred Heart topped the table on 13 points with four wins and one draw, scoring an impressive 14 and conceding only two. Just behind them on 11 points was St Teresa’s who won three games and drew two, scoring seven and not conceding a single goal all day. When the two sides met, the game was 0-0. Again, another tight affair is on the cards!

The finals will take place at full-time of Saturday’s game and any supporters who wish to stay behind and cheer on the teams as they look to book their place in the next round are more than welcome. We wish the best of luck to all four teams and hope they have an enjoyable day.
