Midweek action returns to the Vic

Pools play their penultimate pre-season friendly on Tuesday night with a home clash against Scunthorpe United. Kick-off will take place at 7:45pm.

Darren Sarll was welcomed to Victoria Park on Saturday, marking his first home game in charge with a 3-0 win over Sunderland U21s. Mani Dieseruvwe and Tom Parkes scored in the first half, while a trialist rounded things off late on.

Greg Sloggett was forced off early into the game following an ankle injury, with Sarll confirming the midfielder will be doubtful for Tuesday night’s game.

Scunthorpe finished second in the National League North last season, losing in the play-offs to Boston United.

The Iron have since appointed Andy Butler as manager and enjoyed an impressive start to pre-season, including a 1-0 win over Halifax Town at the weekend through Carlton Ubaezuonu’s goal.
