Hartlepool United are held to a point as they continue their unbeaten start to the Enterprise National League campaign under the floodlights at the Prestige Group Stadium.
A Luke Charman rocket put Pools in front before a Manni Norkett half-volley inside the box put Boston level in the second half.
Early on, it was the Pilgrims who tested Harvey Cartwright via a ball into the box, and Jacob Scott’s header from close range was stopped by the keeper.
Another ball in, this time for the homeside, nearly made it one after Jamie Miley’s header inside the six-yard box slammed off Rhys Lovett’s crossbar.
Hartlepool’s opener came just shy of the half-hour mark after a great passing sequence down the left fell to Charman, who produced a great piece of skill before his curled effort from a tight angle nestled into the top right corner.
Charman nearly bagged his second soon after another darting run led to the winger opening up to shoot, his effort, however, went wayward.
Boston very nearly equalised just before half-time after a fumbled ball in the box from a set-piece was cleared off the line by Tom Parkes.
The second half opened up equally as bright for Pools, Charman found Alex Reid with a low ball across goal, whose shot from close was stopped by Lovett.
Boston eventually broke even soon after when a long ball over the top fell, against the run of play, to Norkett, who was free to volley into the net.
Charman then had another chance to bag his brace after his deflected shot nearly snuck into the near post; however, a full-stretched Lovett was able to tip it away.
In the last few minutes, a Danny Johnson half-volley out of the box slammed on the upside of the crossbar.
The last chance came when Hartlepool fumbled the ball over the line from a corner; however, a handball in the box preceded, disallowing what could have been the winner.
