Pools goalkeeper Josh Mazfari kept another clean sheet at the weekend while Redcar Athletic celebrated as Northern League Division One champions.
A 1-0 victory over Blyth Town – and Mazfari’s 26th clean sheet of the season – secured the title for Redcar on Saturday afternoon.
The 20-year-old was on loan at another Northern League side, Shildon, last season and reached the play-offs.
However, this time round he has gone one better, and secured a first place finish.
The Steelmen will have to wait until next weekend to lift the title, with second-placed Shildon three points behind despite there being a goal difference of 30.

Looking further up the pyramid, Greg Sloggett won his fourth game in five since joining fellow National League side Boston United.
The Pilgrims have been on a magnificent run of a form recently, with eight wins in their last twelve to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
They beat Aldershot and Altrincham during the last week, with Sloggett playing a full 90 minutes in both victories.

Elsewhere in the National League, Manny Onariase played a full 90 and kept a clean sheet in Maidenhead’s 2-0 win away at Halifax.
Sam Barratt and Shawn McCoulsky scored in the final 10 minutes to secure an important victory for Alan Devonshire’s outfit.
It was Onariase’s eighth successive start, with the Magpies making it back-to-back wins in their bid for survival.

West Auckland Town completed their season on Friday night with a 2-0 win over North Shields in Northern League Division One.
Both goals were courtesy of young Pools forward, Alfie Steel, who scored on 60 and 75 minutes to win the Man of the Match award.
Max Storey also started the game, playing 75 minutes, while Academy midfielder Joe Aungiers remained as unused substitute.
