Halifax head to Hartlepool

After three home draws on the bounce, Pools welcome Halifax Town to The Prestige Group Stadium on Saturday afternoon in National League action (3pm kick-off).

The visitors come into the game with just one win in their last five – that came last weekend with 1-0 victory away to Ebbsfleet United. Halifax have scored five goals in their opening six, all from different scorers, while also conceding five.

Last time out, Pools faced Braintree Town at home, where captain Luke Waterfall saw red midway through the first half. Despite being reduced to 10, Sarll’s side created several chances however it ended in a stalemate. That was Hartlepool’s third draw of the season, all three of which have come at home.

From The Gaffer

“I’ve had some of my toughest games against Halifax, they’re always tactically very good,” stated Pools boss Darren Sarll.

“Chris Millington has succeeded Pete Wild and has done a remarkable job, ensuring they’re always competitive. We’re going to have to be at our very best.

“We need the fans again, we wouldn’t have got the two draws with 10 men without them, the home atmosphere has been great.”

Last Meeting

The previous meeting between the two sides was also at The Prestige Group Stadium, where Hartlepool came away with all three points in a 1-0 win back in March. It was former Halifax forward Mani Dieseruvwe who scored from the spot with eighteen minutes to play.

Under Halifax’s current guise, the two sides have met nine times in total with Pools winning four, drawing two and losing three.

Team News

Sarll will be without Luke Waterfall through suspension, however Jack Hunter will return to contention after serving his one-match ban.

Joel Dixon will miss Saturday’s fixture through injury, while Dan Dodds and Luke Charman are also expected to remain absent.

How To Watch
