Folarin: “It feels good to be back, I’m enjoying being back with my teammates.”

Sam Folarin has expressed he’s enjoying being back at the Club after a successful loan spell at Chelmsford and is ready to help Hartlepool United in the second half of the Enterprise National League campaign

With the Club recording back-to-back home wins this week, they head to Brackley Town on Saturday.

Since being back at the Club, Folarin has had a huge impact coming on as a substitute in the last two games.

He said to the local press, “It feels good to be back here, I’m enjoying it being back with my team mates.

Folarin scored twice and assisted three times, including two FA Cup assists, during his loan stint with Chelmsford.

“It was good to be back at home as well as getting some game time.

“I had a good spell, scoring a few goals and getting a few assists, we had a great FA Cup run as well, so very grateful to have that opportunity.

“I feel like I definitely benefited from the loan because obviously, the past year I didn’t really play much.

“Just to feel myself again and to be back on the pitch and play regularly, it definitely helped.

“I’m very grateful to have had that opportunity to play that many games and to come back here and show what I’m made of.

Since his return to the Club, manager Nicky Featherstone has said the winger deserves an opportunity as he’s had a hard time since arriving at the Club.

“It’s an opportunity which, of course, I’ll take.

“He (Featherstone) said just be patient and keep doing what you’re doing, affecting the games.

“Hopefully, the chances will come, and I’ll always be grateful to have this opportunity.

“I just try to play my game and do as much as I can and try to affect the game in a positive way.

Talking about the impact of his loan on himself and his mindset, he said:

“I feel like it’s good because of the loan that I had and having that confidence to do what I’m good at, which is getting on at men, trying to create crosses and create opportunities for my teammates.

“I feel like for me it’s always been a confidence thing because for the past few months or years I haven’t been playing as much as I’d like to.

“I feel like it’s definitely helped my character-building situation as well, just to stay strong, and eventually, your chance will come.

“Just to always tryand do as much as I can in training to give a positive impact towards the team and towards the dressing room.

On a change in atmosphere since his return, he said:

“I feel it’s probably a bit more positive maybe because there’s been a lot more wins since I came back. Having the new gaffer has helped as-well.

“The fact we have new ownership has created quite a buzz within the changing room within the team and the whole crowd so yeah I can definitely see a difference.
