Luke Charman, Tom Parkes

Charman & Parkes back in full training

Luke Charman and Tom Parkes have returned to full training ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against Sunderland U21s in pre-season.

Charman, who joined Pools at the start of June from Fylde, is yet to feature in pre-season following a back injury in training.

Pools manager Darren Sarll has confirmed the attacker has rejoined the group in the lead up to our first friendly at Victoria Park.

“He’s joined in full training this week,” stated Sarll.

“As long as there’s no reaction on Friday, he should be good to go. He’s obviously two weeks behind on that progression with match time, so if we can get him out for 45 minutes on Saturday that would be excellent.”

Sarll also provided an update on Luke Waterfall and Tom Parkes. The centre-pack pairing have undergone minor injuries during the opening stages of pre-season, but both are now in full training with two weeks to go ahead of the opening day.

“It would be nice to get them fitter and ready for August,” added the Pools boss.

“The most important thing is that they’re ready for August 10th. Of course, we’ve haven’t seen them together yet, but the life or death stuff comes early August.

“We need to get them as physically capable as possible for the 10th – I have no fears about them two being ready.”

Campbell Darcy and Kieran Wallace remain sidelined for Saturday’s home fixture against Sunderland U21s.
