A packed schedule for our youth teams…Â Â
Our U19s and U17s are on the road this week in Academy Cup and National League action respectively, while it’s a double-fixture week for our SYTs, who are both on home soil.Â
Â
U19s Â
Our U19s return to action this Wednesday as they travel to Gateshead for the second round of the Academy Cup (12:00pm). Â
Alex Cross’s men will look to build on momentum in this competition, after an historic 5-0 victory over South Shields in the first round.Â
Wednesday’s visitors sit top of the National League Alliance and advanced to the second round of the Cup after a 1-0 win over Guiseley. Â
The Tynesiders defeated Pools 3-0 earlier in the season. Â
Â
U17sÂ
Our U17s return to National League action this week, as they travel to Chesterfield FC on Wednesday (14:00pm). Â
Last week, goals from Alfie Swift and Jackson Raitt secured a massive 2-0 victory over Blyth Spartans for Gary Liddle’s men. Â
The win saw Pools move to fourth in the league with 13 points after nine games. Â
Wednesday’s opponents are top of the National League, with 19 points from eight games, a win for Liddle’s side could see our U17s move just three points behind. Â
Last week, The Spireites couldn’t field an eleven, ending a three-game unbeaten run. Â
Â
SYTÂ Â
Both our SYT’s are on home soil this week, participating in Northeast College League and National Football Youth League action. Â
Last time out, our NECL side won 10-2 over Tyne Met! Damian Shanahan’s side will look to continue their fine form as they welcome Redcar to Brierton Sports Centre this Wednesday (14:00pm). Â
Our NYFL side will look to bounce back following a 4-1 loss to Spennymoor Town last week. Â
They face Middlesbrough FC in a derby clash at Brierton Sports Centre (12:00pm). Â
