Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of Cole Deeming from Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion.
The 19-year-old midfielder joins Pools on loan until 2 January 2027 and will be available for selection ahead of Saturday’s Enterprise National League fixture against Woking at Victoria Park.
Hailing from Halesowen, Deeming is a left-footed central midfielder who possesses an eye for goal and is regarded as a player with considerable potential.
The midfielder joined West Bromwich Albion’s academy at the age of six and has progressed through the club’s youth system, captaining the Under-18s to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup while also featuring regularly for the Under-21s in Premier League 2.
Deeming made an immediate impact at Under-21 level, scoring on his debut against Everton, before progressing into first-team contention during the 2024-2025 campaign. He was named in the matchday squad on seven occasions before making his professional debut for his boyhood club in the Carabao Cup against Fleetwood Town in August 2024.
During the 2025-2026 season, Deeming gained valuable senior experience with fellow National League side Truro City, initially joining the Tinners on a one-month loan before extending his stay following a series of impressive performances.
During his time at the Truro City Stadium, Deeming made six appearances and scored his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw with Forest Green Rovers.
Following his spell in Cornwall, Deeming joined League Two outfit Cheltenham Town for the remainder of the campaign, making 17 appearances during his time with the Robins.
Lee Clark’s latest addition has been handed the number 42 shirt and trained with his new teammates for the first time today.
On joining the Pools, Deeming said: “I’m buzzing to be here. I trained this morning, and I can’t wait to get going.
“At my age I want to play games, so when I spoke to people at the club and the gaffer, and they told me that they want to fight for promotion, that sold the move for me.”
Head Coach Lee Clark said: “We’re delighted to sign Cole; he’s someone we’ve had an eye on for a while, and we’ve seen how well he did at Cheltenham Town.
“He’s also gained experience in this league with Truro, and the staff at West Brom speak really highly of him.
“We feel like he’s the type of midfield player we could do with to supplement and work alongside the other players.
“I’m thrilled we’ve got it over the line, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
