Match Preview | Carlisle United (H)

Hartlepool United host Carlisle United under the Prestige Group Stadium lights for a midweek clash in the Enterprise National League.

Following a seven-goal thriller which saw Pools run out 4-3 winners away to Solihull Moors, they return home for the first time since January, where they lost 3-0 at the hands of Aldershot Town.

It is the first of three consecutive home games for Nicky Featherstone’s side, with the visits of Sutton United and Halifax Town around the corner.

The Opposition

Carlisle United are the team in town and are looking to do the double over Pools.

The Cumbrian outfit occupies third place in the division, nine points behind the top two.

After a rocky start to 2026, Mark Hughes’ team have found form, scoring three goals each in their last three games.

Regan Linney leads the scoring charts at Brunton Park with 13. Former Poolie Luke Armstrong is joint second with Georgie Kelly on nine.

Last Time Out

Pools suffered a 3-1 defeat at Brunton Park back in October in the reverse fixture.

After Cameron Harper’s early goal, Jermaine Francis levelled for the visitors straight after the reset.

Injury to Harvey Cartwright proved to be the catalyst in Pools’ demise as Kelly and Morgan Feeney made it 3-1 to the Blues.

Match Officials

Declan Bourne is the referee for Wednesday’s fixture.

They will be assisted by Jamie Waters and David Holmes.

Michael Robinson is the fourth official.
