Board Update on Takeover

The Club Board would like to provide supporters and stakeholders with a brief update regarding takeover progress.

Following Mr Singh’s recent announcement to step down as Chairman, a notable number of parties contacted the Club with interest.

The Club has been working through these enquiries with a clear process and sequence.

Within the first week two specific parties immediately showed strong intent and moved through initial stages swiftly with acceptable offers and proposed terms for a takeover, however the required proof of funds have not yet been deposited. Proof of usable funds is a crucial step in ensuring that any party can deliver proposals and to allow due processes to continue.

We are mindful of the timescales that the current owner originally identified and we are working with all interested parties to expedite matters in order that the Club find a suitable backer moving forward.

New enquires are still continuing to come in and we are again reminding any interested parties that completing proof of funds, to a level that can realistically support Club cash flow, is a critical early step in progressing through any takeover bid.

Supporters will hopefully appreciate that as a Board we are attempting to update where we can within confidentiality agreements, and we will communicate further in the coming weeks.

Testament to the staff and players, on and off the pitch, the Club has continued to operate professionally over the past month and we aim for that to continue during this transition period.

We hope supporters will again get behind the team come Saturday with our home game against Ebbsfleet United.
