Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Sam Folarin from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.

The exciting winger signs from the League Two side with a host experience, having played 87 times over the last two-and-a-half years for Harrogate.

Folarin is no stranger to the North East, having signed for Middlesbrough in 2019 after impressing in non-league with Tooting & Mitcham.

The 24-year-old spent three years at the Riverside, playing alongside current Pools defender Dan Dodds. He played four games for Boro’s senior side, two of which in the Championship.

The London-born winger also gained senior experience at Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship, before signing for Harrogate in August 2022.

Folarin will wear the number 27 shirt for Pools and be eligible for Saturday’s fixture against Woking, subject to FA and National League approval.

On signing for Pools, Folarin stated:
“I’m very excited to be here and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a very good fanbase, I can remember from playing here how hostile it was, so I’m looking forward to having that support behind me. I want to stake a claim here, show what I can do, and help the team move up the table.”

Pools manager Lennie Lawrence added:
“We’re delighted to have Sam joining us. He’s a fast, direct wide forward with Football League experience. He will hopefully prove to be a valuable addition to the squad and provide us with more attacking options in dangerous areas.
