Hartlepool take on Sutton this weekend in a bid to turn their recent form around after no wins in four. Sutton on the other hand, have three wins in their last four and sit eighth in the table.

Last time out, Pools were narrowly defeated by Forrest Green Rovers in a 1-0 defeat on the road. Pools are also yet to win their first home game from six attempts, so Darren Sarll will hope to get three points this weekend.

Sutton won 2-1 away at Woking in their previous fixture after two early goals put them in the driver’s seat. A late goal from Woking put pressure on the visitors but Steve Morison’s side held on to all three points.

“It’ll be very difficult, large portions of the game we’ll have to have the ball and try to break them down,” stated Pools boss Darren Sarll.

“Against Forrest Green there was improvements across the board, chances created and we looked far more efficient from set plays. We had so many good chances and I thought we played well, on another day we win that game.

“I’ve been on these little runs many times, you have to attack them, you can’t shy away.”

Last Meeting

Last time the two sides met was back in February 2023 at Victoria Park in a 2-2 draw after two early goals put Sutton ahead, but Craig Eastmond found himself booked twice in three minutes and Sutton were reduced to ten.

Hartlepool then managed to score two goals in six minutes before half time to take make the game level. However Pools couldn’t find a winner in the second half and the points were shared.

Team News

Tom Parkes will miss Saturday’s fixture after picking up five yellow cards, thus serving a one-game suspension.

Joel Dixon and Jack Hunter also remain sidelined with long-term injuries.
