Pools welcome Daggers on matchday ten

After four consecutive home draws to start the season, Darren Sarll’s side look to claim their first win at the Prestige Group Stadium as they welcome in-form Dagenham & Redbridge.

The home side have drawn all four of their home games so far this season, keeping a clean sheet in three of those with three stalemates.

Last time out, Pools suffered a 1-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United, thanks to a first half goal from former Hartlepool forward Rakish Bingham. That left Pools 11th in the National League table with three wins, four draws and two defeats.

Dagenham have started the season with the exact same record, however their most recent result came in extraordinary fashion, defeating the previously unbeaten Gateshead 7-1. Ben Strevens’ side includes former Pools forward Josh Umerah, who scored last weekend.

From The Gaffer

“We have the, if not one of the, best defensive organisations in the division and we need to build on that,” stated Pools boss Darren Sarll.

“Dagenham are always very methodical in their game and they have one or two players who are very in-form, but we will prepare for that.

“We have to try and learn while also picking up as many points as possible as the points give you more time to learn. We’re still learning about the combinations of players that we can and can’t field in any one moment.”

Last Meeting

Last time the two sides met, it ended in a 1-1 draw at the Prestige Group Stadium as Joe Grey’s second half equaliser rescued a point for Pools in their final home game of last season.

Meanwhile the away fixture, which took place last September, saw a cross clash off Dagenham defender Sam Ling to hand Pools a 1-0 victory.

Team News

Kieran Wallace, Jack Hunter, Greg Sloggett, Adam Campbell and Gary Madine are doubtful for Darren Sarll’s side having missed training this week.

Joel Dixon and Kieron Freeman will also miss Saturday’s fixture through injury, while captain Luke Waterfall will serve the final game of his four-match suspension.

Nathan Asiimwe will be available for selection after signing on loan from Charlton Athletic on Thursday afternoon.
