A Hartlepool United XI visit Grayfields on Saturday afternoon to take on FC Hartlepool as both sides open their pre-season campaign (1pm kick-off).

Pools manager Darren Sarll revealed in his latest press conference that his side will be ‘heavily trialist and academy based’, with Ian McGuckin overseeing the game from the touchline.

FC Hartlepool enjoyed their first season in the Northern League last campaign, finishing 14th in Division Two having gained promotion from the Wearside League in 2022/23.

Premier League referee Tony Harrington will be in the middle for the fixture, which kicks off at an earlier time of 1pm.

The game will be strictly ticket-only and they must be purchased prior to matchday. Tickets are limited to around 2,000.

Tickets are priced at £8 adult, £4 concession (over 65) and £2 U16. Both cash and card are accepted.

U16’s are required to be accompanied by an adult at the game and will be unable to purchase a ticket alone. However, more than one U16 can attend with an adult.
