Trainor aiming to carry the momentum

Pools forward, Libbie Trainor, has expressed her delight at securing back-to-back victories to take the women’s side out of the relegation zone.

Pools Women had a two-month break over the festive period due to weather postponements, but returned to action in January under new coaching staff.

The side were unfortunate to lose to Washington on their return, but have since claimed wins over Redcar Town and Chester le Street Amazons.

Trainor, who has scored three in three, has reflected on the last month.

“The break came at a good time for us,” stated Trainor.

“It was good to recharge batteries and get some of our new signings integrated into the squad.

“Training has been going well and it’s good to see us taking those ideas out onto the pitch.

”The back-to-back victories have been great for our confidence and it’s shown the team is coming together.

“They were both really good performances and hopefully we can continue in that stride.

“We want to continue winning games and carry the momentum as we approach the business end of the season. And hopefully for myself, I can grab a few more goals.

“As a team, we’re taking it one game at a time, starting this Sunday.”
