Storey returns to action with Blyth

Pools winger Max Storey made his return from a nine-week long injury on Saturday afternoon while out on loan at Blyth Spartans.

The 18-year-old suffered a dislocated elbow and two fractures to his arm while in action over the August Bank Holiday weekend, forcing him to have surgery.

Storey had made four appearances at Croft Park during the first month of the campaign before going down injured.

The winger made his return at the weekend, playing the full 90 minutes as Blyth travelled to Ilkeston Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. He lined up alongside former Poolies, Michael Woods and Nicky Deverdics.

Elsewhere, Kieran Wallace came off the bench for Tamworth on Friday night as the Lambs defeated Huddersfield Town in an Emirates FA Cup upset.

Campbell Darcy played an instrumental role in Whitby Town’s 2-1 home win over Prescot Cables, making it three games unbeaten for Gary Liddle’s side.

And Josh Mazfari started his 24th game for Redcar Athletic against Easington Colliery at the weekend. The Steelmen currently sit top of Northern League Division One, with 48 points from 20 league games.
