Hartlepool United has welcomed a significant donation from the South East Poolies, with the supporters’ group funding a new addition to the Club’s Academy programme.
The contribution has enabled the Academy to further strengthen its performance analysis provision with the addition of another Veo system, giving coaches and players access to high-quality match and training footage as part of their ongoing development.
Now widely used across the professional game, the system uses AI tracking to follow play and capture every moment, allowing sessions and matches to be reviewed in detail.
For the Academy, it adds another dimension to player development. Coaches can break down key moments, provide clearer visual feedback, and support players in refining their positioning, decision-making and understanding of the game.
It also gives players greater ownership of their progress, with footage that can be reviewed individually or used as they move through the pathway.
Established in 2009, the South East Poolies bring together Hartlepool United supporters based across London and the Home Counties.
Many members were born and raised in Hartlepool before moving south and the group has remained closely connected to the Club, supporting a range of initiatives over the years.
Alex Cross, Academy Manager at Hartlepool United, said: “This is a brilliant gesture from the South East Poolies and one that will make a real difference to our work every day.
“The funding has allowed us to add another Veo system to our existing setup, giving us even greater flexibility in how we capture and review games and training.
“For young players, being able to see things back is huge. It helps them pick up details they might miss in the moment and builds confidence in their decision-making.
“We’re always looking to improve the environment for our players and this is another really positive step forward. We’re very grateful for the support.”
Ben Forbes, representing the South East Poolies, added: “As a supporters group, we wanted to make a contribution that would have a real and lasting impact on the Club.
“The Academy felt like the natural place to focus. It’s where the future of Pools lies, and if we can play even a small part in helping young players develop and progress through the ranks, that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.
“This donation was about supporting the Club in a way that genuinely matters, not just now but for the future.”
