Hartlepool United are pleased to confirm the loan signing of exciting attacker Reyes Cleary from West Brom.
The 20-year-old, who is comfortable on the wing and up front, arrives with abundance of potential from Championship side West Brom.
The attacker signed his first professional contract in December 2021 for the Baggies before enjoying a breakthrough season in 2022/23.
That campaign saw Cleary score 19 goals in all competitions for West Brom’s U21 side, while making his debut for the first team and England U19s.
Cleary has made a total of seven senior appearances at The Hawthorns, two of which in the Championship, as well as gaining experience at League Two leaders Walsall earlier this season.
He will wear the number 19 shirt during his time at the Prestige Group Stadium and will be eligible for Saturday’s home game against Woking.
On joining the Club, Cleary stated:
“I’m very pleased to be here. As soon as I heard of Hartlepool’s interest, I wanted to get the deal over the line. It’s a big club with an exciting challenge ahead, and for myself it’s a new opportunity to work hard and hopefully play some games.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started here. We’ve got a big week ahead with some tough games, but it’s an exciting challenge to get stuck into.”
Pools manager Lennie Lawrence added:
“We’re pleased to sign Reyes on loan and we look forward to him adding to our attacking options. We have watched him a lot playing for West Brom and he can provide dangerous attacking threat from wide areas, which is massively important following our recent injuries.
“Our recruitment team have worked extremely hard and we’re expecting another addition imminently. I’d like to thank the Chairman for his support in looking to provide a boost to the squad as we head towards the business end of the season.”
