Limbrick’s programme notes ahead of Tamworth

Hello everyone and welcome to the Prestige Group Stadium. I’d like to extend my welcome to the visiting players and officials from Tamworth.

I thought the performance deserved the win on Saturday against Sutton. We were unfortunate not to be leading at the break, so to concede so early into the second half was frustrating for us. The players showed great character and resilience to go on and create several opportunities after we equalised, before scoring a deserved late winner.

Turning draws into wins has been a massive focus for us. We’ve drawn a lot this season and that’s a missed opportunity in terms of points being dropped. We need to be getting results over the line if we are to stay in touch with the play-offs. Saturday was a good start in that regard and hopefully we can build momentum moving forward.

It was a good to go into that game with a full week behind us. We worked a lot with the players with the change in shape and they responded really well. We need to be tactically flexible, but I think the principles of our play is the most important thing and I’m pleased with how that currently looks.

The staff have been fantastic and they’ve worked really hard over the last week. Lennie, Gav, Feaths and Dicko have put in a lot of work with the players, alongside our physio Danny and analyst Ben.

Getting that win on Saturday sets us up nicely to really attack this week. We want to get more points on the board and push up the table, and three home games is a great opportunity to do that.

There are no easy games in this league, and these three upcoming fixtures provide us with different challenges.

Thanks for your support and please get behind the players as we look to build a winning run.

Anthony Limbrick, Head Coach.
