Pools set to visit 1st Cloud Arena

Pools head to South Shields on Saturday afternoon for their latest pre-season test. It will be Hartlepool’s first visit to 1st Cloud Arena since an Emirates FA Cup tie in 2017.

Darren Sarll takes his third game from the dugout, having faced West Auckland Town and Scarborough Athletic in the last week.

His side claimed a 3-0 victory at West Auckland before falling short at Scarborough, with both fixtures seeing over 20 players used in the Pools team.

Luke Waterfall is yet to appear in pre-season action, though the centre-back returned to training at the back end of the week. Meanwhile, Campbell Darcy was forced off early against Scarborough and the extent of his injury remains to be seen.

South Shields have played just one friendly so far, which finished in a 5-0 home defeat to Sunderland.

The Mariners have made four new additions ahead of the upcoming campaign in the form of Coleby Shepherd, Kyle Crossley, Dan Ward and Ashton Mee.
