Darren Sarll’s side played out their fourth consecutive draw at the Prestige Group Stadium following a stalemate against Halifax Town.
Sarll named three changes to his side with Adam Smith making his first start in between the sticks, while Billy Sass-Davies and Anthony Mancini returned to the starting 11.
Pools created several key chances through affair, starting with a Joe Grey strike on 10 minutes but Sam Johnson swatted away in the Halifax goal.
Home goalkeeper Smith only had two real saves to make all game. The first, a comfortable stop from Adan George’s long shot, before an impressive fingertip save after a wicked deflection off Mancini.
Mancini forced Johnson into a save with a curling strike before the break, while Grey blazed over at the start of the second period.
The biggest chance of the game came in the 90th minute. Substitute Roshaun Mathurin, making his debut, caused havoc with a cross and Gary Madine’s header was well kept out by Johnson. The rebound was put back into the danger zone by Kieron Freeman, but Adam Campbell’s effort was again saved.
Pools now face a busy week on the road, starting with a trip to Boston United on Tuesday night.
