Hartlepool United are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Jack Earing, who joins the Club on an initial short-term deal from National League side Barrow.
The 27-year-old is available for selection ahead of Saturday’s Enterprise National League fixture against Forest Green Rovers.
Earing progressed through Bolton Wanderers’ academy and made his first-team debut for the Trotters in 2016 against Everton Under-21s in the Football League Trophy. He later made his league bow for his boyhood club on the final day of the 2018-2019 season against Nottingham Forest under Phil Parkinson.
A loan spell at Curzon Ashton followed, before Earing joined Halifax Town permanently in 2019. He made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut for the Shaymen against Ebbsfleet United.
In December 2019, he moved to Spennymoor Town before joining Farsley Celtic on loan for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season. He returned to The Shay ahead of the 2020-2021 campaign, which proved to be a breakthrough season as he became a regular starter under new Pools Head Coach Pete Wild, scoring nine goals in 36 appearances for the Shaymen.
Earing joined League Two outfit Walsall in June 2021, providing 16 goal contributions in 114 appearances during three years with the Saddlers.
Our new number 51 becomes Pete Wild’s first signing since being appointed Hartlepool United Head Coach.
On joining Hartlepool United, Earing said: “I’m really happy to be here, and it was good to integrate with the squad at training this morning.
“I can’t wait to get going, earn the trust of the manager and impress the supporters and hopefully move Hartlepool up the league.”
Head Coach Pete Wild added: “I’m delighted to sign Jack; he’s a really good footballer, and one who played his best football as a ten with me at Halifax.
“He’s an athletic and explosive player who arrives in a really good headspace, with a determination to play and help this club move up the table.”
Welcome to Pools, Jack!
