Parkes signs contract extension

Hartlepool United are delighted to announce experienced defender Tom Parkes has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The centre-back has put pen to paper for a further 18 months at the Prestige Group Stadium, having played a key role in the heart of the Pools defence since arriving in January 2023.

Since joining the Club, Parkes has played 47 times in the blue and white, missing just one game so far this season through suspension.

The defender has recently achieved 500 career appearances, having also enjoyed spells at the likes of Bristol Rovers, Carlisle United and Exeter City earlier in his career.

On signing his new contract, Parkes stated:
“I’m happy to have everything sorted, I’m looking forward to building on the last 12 months. I’ve loved every minute since coming here, it’s nice to be playing regularly and picking up points. Hopefully we can have a strong second half of the season and finish high up the table.”

Pools manager Lennie Lawrence added:
“We’re pleased to have Tom’s contract extended until the end of next season. Since arriving at the Club, he has made a significant contribution to our improved defensive performances. His consistency has been fantastic for us, and he’s proved to be an excellent leader both on and off the pitch. I would like to thank the Chairman and Joe Monks for their support in getting this contract finalised.”
