Tom Parkes joins Pools

8 January 2024

Hartlepool United are pleased to announce the signing of experienced centre-back Tom Parkes on a permanent transfer from Livingston.

The former England youth international holds nearly 500 career appearances, having spent 11 seasons in the Football League.

A product of Leicester City, Parkes played a vital role in helping Bristol Rovers achieve promotion to League Two in 2015, gaining a place in the Conference Team of the Season.

The defender then went on to gain experience with Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Exeter City before moving north of the border with Livingston in 2021.

Parkes will be eligible to make his Pools debut against Fylde on Tuesday night, subject to gaining international clearance. He will wear the number 29 shirt.

Upon arriving at the Suit Direct Stadium, Parkes stated:

"I'm very happy to be here and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. For me, I want to get some games in and help the team move up the table. The lads have welcomed me in and I'm excited, which is the main thing for me."
