Club launch partnership with Hartlepool Carers

15 February 2024

Hartlepool United are proud to announce a new partnership with Hartlepool Carers to improve access to fans and their carers on matchdays.

Currently fans who are on higher rate DLA or Enhanced PIP are entitled to a free companion ticket, however, we understand that there are delays with applications caused by the backlog through Covid. With this in mind, we have been in discussion with Hartlepool Carers to see how we can work together and overcome this barrier.

Hartlepool Carers provide advice and support to unpaid carers in Hartlepool from the age of five. Both the Club and Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation have worked closely with Hartlepool Carers for many years and are aware of the fantastic work they do within the town, and this is a further stage in our partnership.

Going forward, the Club will offer a free companion ticket to carers who are registered with Hartlepool Carers, once a carer's assessment and relevant checks have been carried out by the organisation to ensure that a carer is required. This ticket will only be issued by the Club on production of a supplementary letter provided by Hartlepool Carers and when attending with the named cared on the letter.

Christine Fewster, CEO of Hartlepool Carers, said:

"Hartlepool Carers are delighted to be working with the Club to ensure everyone requiring support can enjoy some great football. We look forward to developing this partnership further to create an inclusive offer to all who support Hartlepool United."
