Women: Craig Bage eager to get back onto grass

11 November 2023

Hartlepool United Women return to action on Sunday afternoon with a home game against Wallsend BC Women at Grayfields (2pm kick-off).

It's the first time Pools have been in action since October 22, when they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Gateshead in the Women's FA Cup.

Looking at the Wallsend fixture, Pools manager Craig Bage commented:

“With two weeks of postponement matches, the players are really looking forward to the game this Sunday. They've been working really hard in training. We’re wanting to put on a big display and we will certainly be going for the three points at home.

We know Wallsend are an established team in this league and it's going to be a tough test. Like I’ve said before, there are no easy games at this level and we need to match them and then go 20 percent more to get the win.”

Bage also provided positive news on squad selection, with Robyn Foster and Leo Kennedy now fully recovered from their injuries.

"Apart from a couple of players unavailable due to work commitments, we pretty much have a fully fit squad to choose from for the first time in a while. That's a huge positive and will give us plenty of options to look at before and during the game.

We're all looking forward to getting back on the pitch and would love your support at Grayfields on Sunday. We hope to see you there.”

Sunday's fixture will be a 2pm kick-off at Grayfields (TS24 8PJ). Entry is free and the refreshments bar will be open.
