The first signing of the summer has arrived as Kieran Burton Joins Hartlepool United. The highly rated defender joins after recently leaving Scarborough Athletic.
After two years with Barnsley's development squad, Burton joined Tadcaster Albion in 2021. His reputation with the Brewers grew due to his ability to play at centre-back and left-back thanks to his height and pace.
He left Tadcaster in 2022, joining Scarborough in the National League North. An impressive season with the Seadogs saw him touted for a higher level, and he now joins up with John Askey's side ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Burton added:
After speaking to the Manager, I knew this was the right move for me. I am grateful for the opportunity but also excited to get going. I know this a great club with great fans and the new season can't come quick enough.
John Askey commented:
Delighted to bring Kieran in. He’s a young good prospect with an experienced head. He’s highly thought of and someone we’ve watched for a while. He brings versatility to the squad as well.
