Pools sign Emmanuel Dieseruvwe

4 July 2023

A new attacker is in the building as Hartlepool United confirm the permanent signing of Emmanuel Dieseruvwe.

The forward scored 14 goals for Halifax last season and joins John Askey’s side after leaving The Shay.

Dieseruvwe has had a varied career, including spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Chesterfield, Tranmere, Grimsby, and, most recently, Halifax. At Grimsby, he scored five goals in 13 appearances, helping the Mariners to achieve promotion from the National League via the play-offs.

Last season, he scored 13 league goals for The Shay as they finished 10 points off the play-offs. He rejected a new contract at Halifax to link up with John Askey’s side, and he will hope to build on the goals he scored last season when he pulls on the blue and white stripes.

Mani commented:

Delighted to sign on the dotted line. As soon as I spoke to The Gaffer and Darren, I knew where I wanted to be. I want to keep fans on the edge of their seats, I want to come here, score goals and bring success. I’m excited to get started.

John Askey stated:

Delighted to Bring Mani in. He’s a handful with great qualities and he’s made an impact at every team he’s been at. We’re looking forward to getting him in the building and working with him.
