Pools Sign Brendan Kiernan

31 January 2023

Hartlepool United are pleased to announce the signing of Brendad Kiernan. The midfielder joins Pools on a permanent deal after leaving Walsall.

After youth spells at Fulham, Crystal Palace, and AFC Wimbledon, Kiernan made his professional debut for the Dons in March 2011. After a loan spell at Braintree Town, he went on to play for teams across the non-league, including Ebbsfleet United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, and Welling United.

More recently, he's spent two years with Harrogate and last season with Walsall. He has spent the first half of this season with Grimsby, and now forms part of Keith Curle's squad rebuild.

Kiernan said: "I'm delighted to get this over the line and sign for Pools. Anyone that's seen me play knows that i love getting on the ball and making things happen, and I can't wait to do that for the fans here."

Curle added: "Brendan is a fantastic addition to our squad and he adds a new dimension to our play. I know our fans will enjoy watching him, and hopefully he can hit the ground running."
