Pat Boyes joins Stockton on loan

18 November 2022

We can today confirm that Patrick Boyes has been recalled from Pontefract Colleries to now join Stockton Town FC.

The young goalkeeper enjoyed a short-term spell with Ponte achieving back to back clean sheets and a handful of man of the match performances.

Boyes will now return to the Northern Premier League Division One East but this time with league leaders and local side, Stockton Town FC.

Boyes added: "I am excited to make the next step in my career with Stockton. I've learnt a lot from my time with Pontefract and being chucked in the deep end of Men's football has taught me a lot. I'd like to thank everyone at Ponte for the opportunity."

Goalkeeping coach, Kyle Letheren commented:

"Pat's progress is clear to see from everybody at the football club. Pat was sent to Pontefract to be around a first team environment but he benefited from a nasty injury to the Pontefract Goalkeeper. He went on to have October player of month, two clean sheets and a man of the match against Stockton and that’s how this move came about and that’s a credit to pat for grasping his opportunity. I’d like to thank Craig rouse (manger) for giving pat the opportunity at Pontefract FC. With Stockton being so close to Hartlepool we will be able to keep a closer eye on Pat."
