Pools sign Callum Cooke

6 July 2022

Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of Callum Cooke. The midfielder joins us on a two-year deal after recently leaving Bradford City.

Born in Hartlepool, Cooke started his career in Middlesbrough’s academy. After appearing in Boro’s U23 side, loan spells at Crewe Alexandra and Blackpool followed before joining Peterborough in 2018.

Cooke joined Bradford in 2020 following a loan spell with the Bantams and left after his contract expired last month. He appeared against Pools in March 2022, claiming both assists as Bradford won 2-0 at the Suit Direct Stadium.

Cooke added: 'Delighted to get this deal done. I spoke to the Manager a few weeks ago and he told me that he wanted winners, I'd like to think I'm one of them. I can see this is an ambitious club and I can't wait to get started'.

Paul Hartley added: 'Delighted to get Callum through the door. Someone who is still young but with a lot of experience and games under his belt. He offers us great options in the midfield and can play numerous different roles. We’re looking forward to working with him as we build towards the new season.'

Cooke will wear the number 10 shirt and his deal will be subject to EFL and FA clearance.
