FA Cup: Pools travel to Ilkeston Town

15 October 2020

The draw for the FA Cup fourth qualifying round has been completed and Pools will face Ilkeston Town FC.

The tie will take place on Saturday 24th October (subject to change) as we travel to The New Manor Ground in Derbyshire.

Ilkerston will be permitted to allow fans into the stadium but due to current guidelines it is home supporters only. No away allocation will be offered to Pools fans.

The Northern Premier League division one side beat Alvechurch 1-0 in the last round and Dave Challinor admits he has fond memories of Ilkeston:

"It's a tough draw but one we're looking forward to and it may give an opportunity for some players that haven't had a chance to date in our league campaign."

"I've fond memories personally of Ilkeston, in my first full season as manager of my previous club, our first game was away to Ilkeston where we got a 1-1 draw. Kevin Wilson who I'm friends with was their manager alongside Steve Chettle and over the last few years they've produced many players that have progressed into the EFL and Premier League. "

"They've started they season well, as have so it will be a really competitive game. We will approach it as any other and give them full respect, we'll watch them and go there fully prepared in order to try and progress."
