Youth Team Look To Extend Unbeaten Run

29 January 2020

Pools Youth Team look to continue their unbeaten start to

2020 on Wednesday afternoon when they make the trip to face Boston United in

the NLFA North Division (2pm kick-off).

Ian McGuckin's men have opened the New Year with a

creditable 2-2 draw against Chester before last Wednesday's convincing 3-0

triumph over AFC Fylde.

Sitting fifth in the table prior to kick-off, Pools still

have games in hand on to top three in the division so will be hoping another

good performance at Boston can help them close the gap.

“As I keep saying, we just want to get a run of games and achance to build some momentum,” McGuckin told us.

“We had a strong performance last week and should really have

scored more goals so I want us to take that standard in to this game and extend

the unbeaten run.

“I still think we can get better than we've shown so now we have

to go out there and show that on a consistent basis between now and the end of

the season and see where it takes us.”

Aaron Willoughby looks set to return for Pools at Boston

after missing recent outings through injury, but Grant Lowerson (hand) and

Conner Rennison (knee) remain sidelined.

Wednesday afternoon's game takes place on Pitch 1 on of theWainfleet Road Pavilion in Skegness and entry to all supporters is free.
