Pools Women Ready For Ossett Test

24 January 2020

Pools Women will be hoping to close the gap at the top of

the NERWFL Premier Division table on Sunday when they travel to take on Ossett

United at Inglefield Stadium (2pm kick-off).

Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes' side currently sit fourth in the

table and are seven points behind leaders Harrogate Town, though they do still

have four games in hand.

With neither Harrogate nor third placed Farsley Celtic in

league action this weekend, Sunday's trip to Ossett represents a great chance

for Pools to make some progress.

After producing a strong performance in defeat to National

League side Chester-le-Street Town last time out, Pools will approach the

fixture with real confidence.

“We've had a very good week's training on the back of an amazing display last week so I can sense a real spring in the step of the players,” Gibbon-Hayes told us.

“I'm expecting a really tough game at the weekend but I haveevery faith that the girls will be able to bring home a positive result.

“We have a strong belief building in the camp that 2020 can

be a big year for us so we have to try and take that in to every game between

now and the end of the season.”

Gibbon-Hayes is still having to contend with a few injury

concerns ahead of the game; Hannah Lambert is the latest player ruled out, though

Ellie Gutcher is back available for selection.

Kick-off is 2pm at Inglefield Stadium on Sunday and entry isfree for all supporters.
