Pools Complete Swoop For Hearts Striker

10 January 2020

Dave Challinor has moved to strengthen his attacking options

with the signing of Republic of Ireland Under-21 front man Aidan Keena on a

permanent deal from Hearts.

The 20-year-old forward came through the ranks at St

Patricks Athletic in his native Ireland before winning a move to Hearts in the

summer of 2017 where he has excelled in the Under-20s side.

Keena gained senior experience with a loan move to Queen's

Park at the beginning of 2018 and he went on to score eight goals in 16

appearances for The Spiders.

After making his senior debut for Hearts, he was allowed out

on loan to Dunfermline and prospered once more as he hit the net five times in

12 games.

He scored his first senior goal for Hearts in the Scottish FA Cup last February but has been unable to pin down a regular starting spot for the Scottish Premiership outfit this season.

Pools boss Challinor has been monitoring the Irishman's

progress and was quick to make his move once he became available and he's now

persuaded him his future lies at Victoria Park.

The Club must now await international clearance for Keena, who has been handed squad number 35.
