Dave Challinor admitted his side need to improve after
seeing them lose 1-0 in a scrappy New Year's Day encounter with Harrogate Town
The Pools boss was left frustrated as the visitors broke
through with one of the game's only shots on targets 12 minutes after the break
to ensure their third successive National League victory.“It was a poor game that looked like two teams who were abit tired but I won't use that as an excuse,” Challinor told Pools TV.
“If we are stood here talking about a poor game that we got
a point out of then you're still frustrated but you can move on – in games like
that when it's a bit of an arm wrestle then it can be decided on moments.“We should score from a corner at one end and then within a
minute the ball is in our net from what is, from our perspective, another poor
goal defensively.“I suppose that is the difference between that will get in
the play-offs as a minimum and one that wants to get in the play-offs, it's
fine margins.“We've got to make sure that we improve and those games when you don't play well you still get something – that hasn't happened today and we're disappointed.”
