Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of Josh MacDonald.
Born in the North East, the young forward has spent the last five years at FC Halifax Town and developed quickly into a key attacking outlet with a fantastic ability to beat his man. Favored as a right-winger, Josh became a key part of Halifax's side and started in their 2016 FA Trophy win at Wembley.
MacDonald started his career as a Middlesbrough trainee and then went on to play for Northern Premier League side Marske United. In 2015, the winger got his move to Halifax where he went on to play 83 times for the West Yorkshire club.
We spoke to Pools boss Dave Challinor on his latest newsigning:
“Josh is a local lad which always helps because he knows the
area and he knows the expectation of being a Hartlepool United player. He is
someone I have known for a while and I'm delighted to finally get him in. He is
direct, quick and unpredictable and definitely an asset to the team. He has a
had a good few years at Halifax, he knows the league and now he's ready to
commit to us as a club”Josh will
join with the rest of the squad straight away as they prepare for the new
season ahead.
