Youth Team In League Cup Action

9 October 2019

Pools Youth Team are in League Cup action on Wednesdayafternoon when they host Chester at Welfare Park in Blackhall (2pm kick-off).

Ian McGuckin's men will approach the game in high spirits followingtheir 7-0 demolition of Seaham Red Star in the FA Youth Cup last week.

However, McGuckin is not expecting his young side to have it

all their own way against a Chester outfit who have caused Pools problems in

the past.

“Every game we have played against Chester has been toughand I don't expect this one to be any different,” he told us.

“It's another cup competition and we want to progress as far

as we can and open up the opportunities to face different teams so we're

focused on getting a positive result.

“The lads have been bright and bubbly in training and everything

I am seeing suggests that they will be in the right frame of mind to link the

performance and result together so we're looking forward to it.”

McGuckin has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from once

again for the League Cup tie, with only Conner Rennison on the sidelines with a

knee injury.

The game at Welfare Park kicks-off at 2pm and entry is freefor all supporters.
