We Need To Stay Positive - Kioso

6 November 2019

Peter Kioso has insisted that Pools must not allow Tuesday evening's

defeat to Solihull Moors to undermine the progress that has been made in recent

weeks.

The young defender was once again in brilliant form during

the encounter with The Moors but couldn't help his side find the all-important

breakthrough at Victoria Park.

The 1-0 loss brought an end to a four-game unbeaten run

under caretaker boss Antony Sweeney but Kioso is adamant that the players can't

afford to let it knock them out of their stride.

“The boys left everything out there,” he told Pools TV.

“You know what you're going to get with Solihull Moors –

most people will say it's not attractive football but it works. That's their

game plan, it gets them points and it gets them up there.

“It gets frustrating on the pitch for everyone. We're a

ball-playing team and did break through them a couple of times and got in – and

we should have capitalised on that but unfortunately we didn't.

“Sweens told us before the game to get on the front foot and

look to get that goal and if we had scored first it would certainly have helped

us because they would have had to chase the game.

“I think we just need to keep pushing forward and keep beingpositive.

“The new gaffer is coming in and I know he will push us on

and keep us playing great football so we can't allow ourselves to be

disheartened.

“When we were winning games we were all happy in the changing rooms – we can't just lose one game and all of a sudden we're upset. We have to keep our heads up and go again.”
