Dave Challinor has admitted he is pleased with the progress
he's seen from the squad since he took charge at Victoria Park but is still
The new boss remains unbeaten since being formally appointed
and his side have fired 13 goals in just four games, including a 5-1 thrashing
of Chesterfield in midweek.Challinor is happy with the reaction from the players during
his first three weeks at the Club as he continues to assess the squad he's
inherited and consider what tweaks are needed to improve it.“Whilst things are going well it's important you recognise what
we've done that's brought us success. We will keep doing that and try to improve
in to the next game,” Challinor told Pools TV.“The second half performance on Tuesday said a lot and
showed that there is the potential there to become a winning and successful
team.“I will keep reiterating to the players that every day is an
opportunity to get better and I still think there is loads of improvement to
come.“We train in a different way with a different intensity and,to date, the performances have got better.
“We're looking at physicality and what we're producing output-wise
in terms of our data – and the way the players have trained and what they're
putting in to games has been first class and we've seen improvement in every
game.“We have to make an assessment and look at the squad to see
where can potentially improve in areas and one thing that stands out for me is
trying to get a bit more flexibility.“We want to bring players in that can change the dynamic or bring something different, be that from the start or from the bench, but they have to be the right ones and the right characters.”
