Pools fans can now enjoy the very first interview with newPools boss Dave Challinor.
The new man in charge sat down with us prior to last week's
trip to Yeovil Town to outline his excitement, his plans and his ambitions
after taking over in the hotseat at Victoria Park.Challinor will be in the dugout for the first time on
Tuesday night when he leads the team in the re-arranged FA Cup First Round tie
against Yeovil Town at Huish Park.He will be joined by new Assistant Manager, Joe Parkinson
while Antony Sweeney will remain a key part of the new-look set-up as he takes
up a role as First Team Coach.“I'm delighted to be here and I can't wait to get started,”Challinor told Pools TV.
“Opportunities like this don't arise all the time so I was
really keen to get something done – it's a massive opportunity at a massive
football club.“It's a big challenge and people have told me it's a tough
job but I understand what I am getting in to and being at the Notts County game
last Saturday was so refreshing.“What I saw on the pitch was really pleasing – the playerswere fantastic – but what I saw off the pitch was a huge thing for me.
“To have that many supporters travel away and the vocal
backing they gave throughout the game was brilliant and that's something we
want to see continue.“We can't guarantee success but we can guarantee that the players out there and the staff will be doing everything we can and no stone will be left unturned to try and make us successful.”
